Silver Ornaments in our workshop pass through three stages:
- Melting:
pure silver in solid brick form is melted on fire. It is then mixed with impurity (Zinc, Cadmium, etc) to form into 95% castable/moldable silver. This silver in melted form is poured in a mould to form into long silver stick.
- Beating:
The castable silver is continuously beaten and pressed to make the silver attain more volume & surface area. During this process the silver is broken into different pieces, which act as uncrafted silver items.
- Crafting:
In this final stage is the role of fine craftsmanship comes into being. A precise balance has to be made as to what temperature of the metal should be while clipping or twisting it. With simple hand tools the pieces have to be quickly twisted, stretched, turned and given shape. Sharp edges are rounded off to perfection. Inlaying of beads and stone also is done during this stage.
